Chevron Conveyor Belt
Molded V-cleat profile belt designed for conveying materials up steep inclines.

Chevron Conveyor Belt
Chevron Conveyor Belts are specially designed for conveying loose, bulky, or bagged materials on inclined surfaces where conventional flat belts may experience material rollback. The raised cleat design provides excellent grip and anti-slip properties, enabling efficient transportation of materials at angles of up to 40 degrees. These belts are widely used in industries handling powders, grains, aggregates, sacks, and other bulk materials requiring inclined conveying solutions.
CORE COMPOUNDING
Abrasion-resistant SBR/NBR rubber cover with hot-vulcanized cleat profile (45 to 60 Shore hardness) and synthetic fabric reinforcement
Overview & Engineering Design
Chevron conveyor belt is suitable for conveying loose, bulky or bagged materials on inclined surface at angles of up to 40 degrees, due to raised cleats it's Anti-slip. Rubber cleats on Chevron conveyor belt get vulcanized onto the top cover of the belt during the manufacturing process. Profiles manufactured of extremely abrasion-resistant rubber types are available in 45 to 60 Shore hardness compounds. It offers a smooth ride across return idlers thanks to the pitch between two cleats. Cleat pattern ranges: Conveyor belts with close V type, open V type, & Y type.
Core Product Features
Steep inclined conveying up to 40°
Molded cleat profiles allow loose, bulky, or bagged materials to be conveyed at steep angles without sliding backward or rolling back.
Hot-vulcanized cleats
Rubber cleats are vulcanized as a single piece onto the top cover of the belt during manufacturing, ensuring zero risk of tear-off or delamination.
Abrasion-resistant profile compound
Cleat profiles are manufactured of extremely abrasion-resistant rubber types, available in 45 to 60 Shore hardness compounds.
Smooth return ride
The pitch between two cleats offers a smooth ride across return idlers, preventing high vibration and reducing wear.
Versatile cleat pattern ranges
Comes in close V type, open V type, and Y type patterns to match material flow characteristics and incline requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions
Technical answers regarding our chevron conveyor belt configurations.
No, running chevron cleated belts over flat return rollers causes severe cleat wear and belt vibration. We recommend using specialized return idlers with rubber disc rings or dual-roll V-return configurations that support the belt along its flat margins without crushing the cleats.
Closed-V patterns have continuous cleats that maximize fluid containment and are ideal for wet, fine materials like wet sand or muddy grains. Open-V patterns have gaps at the center of the V-shape, which allows drainage of excess water and makes the belt easier to scrape and clean.
Traditional polyurethane flat scraper blades do not work on chevron profiles. We recommend using rotary motorized brush cleaners, high-pressure water spray bars, or specialized segmented finger scrapers that flex to accommodate cleat heights.
All EarthFlex chevron profiles are hot-molded directly in our vulcanizing presses as an integral part of the top cover. We do not use cold-glued or vulcanized-on cleats, which easily peel off under high material impact or roller tension.
A 15mm cleat can run on pulleys as small as 250mm, whereas a 25mm or 32mm profile requires a minimum pulley diameter of 315mm to 400mm. Bending around too small a pulley induces high tensile stress at the cleat base, leading to cracking.
